“The Biggest Museum in the World of Small Machi”

The NPO Sunabi Museum, Ogata Recreational Fishing Boat Owners Association and Kuroshio Town Tourism Network won the Grand Prize at the 19th Ecotourism Grand Prize, co-hosted by the Ministry of the Environment and the Japan Ecotourism Association.

We have been engaged in activities rooted in the community for many years. During Whale Watching, a regional guide provided commentary, research and research in cooperation with academic institutions, and setting voluntary rules were also conducted. In recent years, we have been focusing on disaster prevention learning programs that address not only the “bounty” of nature but also the “disaster prevention learning” program. We are working together to promote community-based Ecotourism and provide high value-added activity to visitors.
